For Club Night advancement judging, at most three slides per evening.
Up to two additional slides may be entered into the "Set Subject" section.
Please use glass mounts as described in Mounting of Images link.
Please title and spot the mount as shown below and described in the Mounting of Images link.
Place your slide entries into the tray with picture upside down, with spot in the top right-hand corner.
The title should be at the top and authors name at the bottom when the slide is placed in the tray. The Title and name should be legible (i.e. right way up) even though the picture is upside down.
Take note of the slide graphic above this is how your slide should look after you have prepared it for Club Night and Photographic Salons.
Slides at club meetings, are required to be mounted in glass - this is mandatory. This is done firstly, to protect the slide, and secondly, to avoid the projectionist having to refocus constantly as a result of the slide 'popping' in and out of focus due to the heat generated by the projector's light bulb. Thirdly, mounting this way obviates dust clinging to the slide surface as a result of static electricity.
Please see that mounts and slides are free from 'dirt'. Clean the glass mounts with a lint-free cloth, anti-static cleaner or soft art paint brush. Clean slides with an air-blower.
Be careful not to leave any finger marks on the slide.
Seal the slides securely all around the perimeter.
Spotting and Titles for Salons
When the slide is mounted with right side up turn the slide upside down.
Stick a red spot at the top right hand corner.
Place the title label on the same level with the category at the bottom (3 star members and upwards).
At the back of the slide put your name and postal address (for salon entries).
