The Sandton Photographic Society is a camera club, based in Sandton in the province of Gauteng, South Africa. It is a regional club affiliated to the Photographic Society of South Africa (PSSA).
The members use Digital SLR cameras in the format of 35mm, the Digital Section has fast become the medium of preference to the extent that the club has dropped the colour Slide Section, leaving only digital 35 mm colour and monochrome, which may also be entered as Prints, however digital images and prints of the same image may not be entered on the same club night.
Other than the monthly club night meeting which is explained in more detail on this website, there are regular National and International Photographic Salons which not only include Digital and Print images, but more recently Audio Visual Presentations have been added.
There is a good balance of members ranging from novices to top photographers, and senior members are always willing to assist new members to improve their photographic skills.
Visitors are most welcome at monthly meetings. The club meets on the third Wednesday each month at 19:30hrs (19:00hrs for 19:30hrs) at St Mungo's Church - Corner of William Nicholl Drive and Grosvenor Road.
If you need information regarding any of the clubs activities, please send an e-mail to the Chairman at firstname.lastname@example.org and you will receive a reply as soon as possible.
